DEFINITION

Corneal ulcer are produced due to trauma and usually a foreign body causing the infection.

These are mainly affected to the children and the women.

 -caused BY VIRUS

 – caused BY FUNGAL

 – caused BY ALLERGIES

2) CAUSED DUE TO DRY EYES

CLINICAL FEATURE ARE

1) pain

2)redness of eyes

3)photophobia

4)tear

5)blurred vision

6)headache

7)Burning sensation of the eye

Investigations 

 

1)Blood and sugar test

2)eye test

 

Treatment

 

1) cleaning of eyes

2)antibiotics

3)oral antibiotics

Surgery-

removal of the affected epithelial layer of cornea

 

Complication

 

-Loss of eye

-Intra occular infection

-Corneal scaring

-Visual impairment

-Pnococcal ulcer

-facial muscle imbalance.
